On a recent trip to visit Norway the husband and I snuck away for a few days to visit Bergen and the nearby Rosendal where I discovered this beautiful edible garden. Full of kale, cabbage,medicinal herbselicious and medicinal herbs, edible flowers and off course apple trees – the garden was as close to Eden as I’ll get. Paula Gloria took advantage of an opportunity to record the first reunion moments with a girlfriend with whom she spent formative years with in the Transcendental Meditation organization, in order to share deeper thinking on the value of “drugs” considered evil in overall society and especially within ideological group (Paula mentions doctor Rick Strassman who got a grant from the DEA and the NIH to study DMT was shunned by his Buddhist community and thus turned to the Bible.) Dr Strassman was surprised to discover unexpected evidence that the Old Testament was a lot “hipper” than he had expected as regards psychedelic experience! Paula points out that her studies of psychoanalysis and especially the work of Hyman Spotnitz who could cure schizophrenia without medication led her to be reminded that when a young member of the meditation community she was in with Andrea, it was a community that was suspicious of psychoanalysis. Paula and Andrea explore why this might be the case and if indeed it was just an expression of maturity and relative to the situation and needs of the body as it evolves.
