Chinese Herbal Medicines Treating Eczema?
Posted on September 24th, 2009 by admin
My brother is in the process of taking this chinese herbal medicine to help with his really bad eczema. It’s basically dried herbs boiled in water for two hours then drank. Does anyone have any experience of taking this stuff, and do you know whether it works, or if there are any side effects? He’s only ten and we’ve tried all the Western medicines, and nothing’s worked.
Thank you
Hello there. I haven’t heard of drinking herbal decocts for eczema. Your brother may want to try topical herbal cream from Champori.com : it is based on Chinese (judging from names) herbs and works better than anything else I tried for my eczema.
Best,
Bernadette
It might work, some people swear by it,but it did nothing for me.
In any case, there shouldn’t be any side-effects,as those remedies are herbs, therefore natural, not drug-based.
Good luck!

Actually I have eczema too, and my doctor prescribed this medicine that works when I use it… although if the herbs work, do tell!

I have always been totally suspicious of this sort of thing but I did have a work colleague who used Chinese herbs etc. for the same reason as your brother and they worked for him. He does have dry skin but not one outbreak of eczema in many years.
I wouldn’t recommend it as a first resort but it worked for him and I hope it works for your brother
