It really goes into detail about how to identify herbs (there's a picture for every single one listed in the book), how to make your own herbal remedies such as extracts, tinctures, teas, lozenges, salves, etc. Also has a few recipes scattered around and has a seperate section that goes into detail about the different systems in your body. It's pretty much the best book I've come across yet when it comes to herbal medicine.
