  2. From “The Healing Art of Storytelling,” says Richard Stone,
“When we recognize that our deepest aspirations can be satisfied by a culture that reduces life to a sense of meaning smorgasborg and property, we must seek new sources of meaning, struggling with the same issues that challenge our ancestors “(page 3).
“Our desire to find our place in this world is not just a feeling.” (Page 3)

If all these self-help books have done what they claimed to do,
I would be at peace with myself, with my family, and even with my enemies, but this is not the case. In the West we have forgotten our roots philosophy: “Know thyself.”

To overcome my rational mind where I formed some prejudices, I need stories to help me move sneak the “rational” standing guard to protect my ego.

Initially, my quest to use stories of healing began with the book of James Hillman’s “Healing Fiction.” Richard Stone in his book “the healing art of storytelling “approach offers a simpler and more understandable.

I understand Mr. Hillman motivates me to turn to fiction to help me, but his critical and academic confuse the spirit of my simple layman. Mr. Stone’s approach is more understandable because he offers his views in plain, everyday.

I am a realist at heart. I do not expect romantic endings in life but I expect to find my way in and out of circles and through the maze of the many mysteries of my life. Richard Stone’s book “the art of healing the tale” could be a help for those seeking satisfaction that materialism has not been able to acccomplish or never able to do. Thank

    Mr. Stone.
