Great lesson! One I already knew, but many people are not aware of the benefits of ginger, lemon & honey. An alternative: If you have Lemon Balm & Thyme growing in your garden… Pick sprigs of both & follow same instructions & use honey to sweeten. It has a wonderful lemon flavor & the thyme is antiviral and antibacterial. Great for a sore throat!

  2. Right – the theory …
Right – the theory is that the most biologically active forms of plants respond to the vitamin receptors in your body. In a pill, that is not the form our body has been conditioned to use for thousands of years – rather, it is through metabolizing ingredients from live green plants.

cool stuff, this kinda stuff should be on tv, it’s interesting, useful and easy.

  4. Traditional …
Traditional herbalists would say that the the plants are best whole, that you lose something when you isolate recognized “active” ingredients and discard the rest. Can’t remember who I was reading, but one herbalist said “plants are not drugs in green jackets.”

  5. He is referring to …
He is referring to the larger companies like Centrum Silver, for example. Those companies, from what I have been told,(I am also fairly new,) use the lowest grade ingrediants. The ingrediants go through refining processes where by the end, what is left is not even beneficial to you. They also use preservatives and “natural flavors” which is exactly what you don’t want in your suppliments.

  6. Could you please …
Could you please list the ingredients on the right hand side of the page, it would be a lot easier to follow. Thank you . Very helpful.

  7. Why do u say …
Why do u say supplements don’t work? I’m only just learning about all this herbalism stuff :]

  8. I’m big on herbal …
I’m big on herbal concoctions. It is nice to steep the mixture (be it Yerba Mate, Devils Claw, Chamomile Flower, Raw Cacao…) in tepid water for about five minutes before adding unboiled hot water. This will maximize nutrients and seal in fresh flavor. People should avoid pre-ground and bagged products at all costs! Yes I’m a food snob. :-)

  9. Keep on herbalizing.
    Keep on herbalizing.
