For hiking in New Paltz area try Minnewaska State Preserve, Mohonk Preserve and Sam’s Point Preserve. For great hikes in the Catskills I recommend- Overlook to the fire tower, Devil’s Path, Slide Mountain and the Escarpment Trail. Have fun!
