  1. Yes they are! House hunting in 1999 on the internet we noticed listings in NS that seemed way below market value. We did research and discovered the economic circumstances created by the corporate machine.

In Vermont the dairy farmers are getting wrecked. Unwillingly depending on Government aid and cheap illegal migrant workers. They can’t make a profit on the farms. They’re losing the war with the corporate juggernaut.

We can still hope that change may bring blessings in the long run.

  2. HI.Thanks for your reply.Well huge corporate commercial whatevers are destroying everything aren’t they no matter where or what it might be.I’m not close to the coast here so I’m not right up on the fishery but there is a fish seller at our farmers market who use to fish. Many people move away to the province of Alberta to seek work others make do as best they can.How do you know of Nova Scotia?I’ve always lived here and like it very much.We are “underdeveloped”…:)

  3. Chickens will eat most anything. They will forage for worms and insects or bugs which they love. We raise the usual root vegetables and tomatoes peppers etc. Chickens will eat em all. IF you want nice yellow yolks carrots are great. You’ll see…fence in your garden because those chickens will mow down plants before they fruit. And will eat fruit before they’re ready for harvest.. Take care.

  4. You’re right, we’re in ski country. So far this year however we have no snow. The 8th latest first snowfall in the last 100 years and counting.

My wife and I have some knowlege of Nova Scotia. Such a lovely place in the world. We understand that huge corporate commercial fishing is destroying the local economy. What are the local folks doing to adjust?

  15. I’d say Vermont is the best example of total agriculture and living in the US. There’s a respect for life, nature, and ideas. Man I’d like to visit there someday.
