This book is a treasure of practical advice and bizarre experiments that leaves you with a sense of well-being and peace, about the same effect as herbs that you learn to cultivate! The author takes a natural approach to growing plants, and really makes you think about what happens there - in the wild places around the world where these plants make their home course. A pleasure to read for your winter dreams, and a useful companion in the garden after the snow melted.Rating: 5 / 5

The Herb Grower, Volume 1
If I had to get rid of my nearly 100 books on herbs and could choose one book to keep this one I would choose. I just read about herbs, using herbs, grasses becoming more than twenty years and this book is by far the most comprehensive, the most definitive book I have not read it yet. More surprising still, Mr. Cech was able to write this book filled with information on cultivation of herbs, anecdotes, real life stories, and tons of information and packaging it all succinctly articulated and in only 159 pages. I can hardly wait, but I have to wait for Volume 2.Rating: 5 / 5

"The herb Grower" is like taking a pilgrimage guided through the garden, with a master enlightened beings Botanical your side. This is an anthology of the most appropriate living and working in nature. As an herbalist and avid plant enthusiast, I found this book inspiring and useful in many avenues of my work and life. The book begins with the "Tale of the Dragonfly gold" which opens the way for variable geometry the reader in a steward of the garden enthusiast. Each lesson throughout the book is accompanied by two anecdotal experiences of friends and experiences from the garden at Horizon Herbs. The chapter "Creating the works for Habitat" sign Mandrake how to grow a plant to grow very complex! Other topics include the creation of living soil, compost and building a greenhouse, and shadehouse Tortuga (a raised bed is designed after the turtle). It breaks down the process into simple steps, and sets the information in a way to land. After reading this book, I feel much more in tune with seasonal changes and the work of garden that comes with each phase. Warm thanks to Richo and all stakeholders to share the wisdom you've collected over the years! This book is a treasure, an essential collection of reading all gardeners.
Rating: 5 / 5

I ordered this book last week, directly from Horizon Herbs and arrived on Saturday (with a bunch of herbs that I can not wait to plant). I was immediately attracted by the style of the author's writing which includes family histories and anecdotes. I am new to herbs (culinary herbs have been in my garden for many years) and I think it's a great book to start. I also like that I can order plants and seeds directly from the family farm of the author, I plan on doing again soon. Richo Cech and Horizon Herbs has earned a new fan and a very happy customer.Rating: 5 / 5

I have had good success with medicinal products in the growth of the seed. After reading this book, I completely catapulted into the upper echelons of seed starting. Before reading the book I am using a commercial mix all from organic seeds that have brought good results. All my plants I started from seed (Horizon Herbs) thrive in my garden today. As I like to experiment and change different variables, I decided to follow the advice of Richo on making house potting soil. I tell my young plants look much healthier and robust, and feel more alive than other mixtures. The chapter on "Making Your Own Potting Soil" is the book's price alone. Many of the topics covered in this section can be found online. I found some interesting topics have been direct seeding, the sound effects, tortuga, and rubber fingers. Many of these topics have been invented or discovered at Horizon Herbs. This book is filled with basic, solid information and some common sense. But when reading through it resonates the information at a level deeper, as if nature and Richo mother were both in front of you to show you. The book is great, from beginning to end, from the first word until the last moment. His stories linking the lessons of Chapters are stories that are deeply abosorbed Medicinals and extremely helpful during growth. He has a great sense of humor and a helpful and informative way of explaining the trade in plants. It is truly a steward of the earth. I wish Amazon had more than 5 stars for a really phenomenal book such as this. It has been acclaimed by many herbalists as Christopher Hobbs. I can not say enough great things about it. It changed my perspective on seed Departure and several other subjects. Amazon is out of the book, but it can also be purchased directly from Richo at Horizon Herbs. My only question is when Volume 2 is ready? Richo Thank you for all your hard work.Rating: 5 / 5
