  1. Martin Zucker has interviewed more than thirty holistic veterinarians for this book. They share what supplements, dietary changes, herbs, homeopathic remedies or flower essences they have found to be effective in conditions ranging from arthritis and cancer to parasites and yeast infections. If you’ve been in the natural breeding for a while, some of suggestions will be new to you, but the book is nonetheless a resource Nice.
In addition to the AZ index of health problems Dog and suggested natural remedies, there are concise chapters that present various holistic therapies (herbs, nutritional supplements, homeopathic remedies, flower essences, acupuncture , chiropractic, and massage techniques), as well as chapters on vaccines / titles and nutrition. However, while it is great that holistic veterinarians interviewed for this book call for fresh food diets, information presented in the chapter on homemade meals is not sufficient to enable anyone to prepare a balanced homemade diet for their dog (s). To balance plans fresh food supply, see the books by Billinghurst, Volhard, or Pitcairn. I also disagree with the section on nutrition bones – in my experience with dog breeding and natural as a consultant in animal nutrition, I found that more fresh, raw, such as chicken bones back or neck that are consumed in their entirety are safer than the big beef bones drive is recommended in the book.

  2. I found this book when I was desperate to help my dog was recently diagnosed with a heart murmur. This book has been an incredible resource for me. I love how all the information on the recommended herbs, diets, etc. are saved with the name of a professional and telephone number (several times). I understand that there is a time for conventional medicine, but I have always been inclined to go alternative “or natural”. After reading this book, I am extremely pleased to say that my dog is incredible and barely a trace of a heart murmur left. My vet even asked me what I had between 6 months for doctor visits such drastic results. If someone cares about their pet, best friend I do, this book will hold the highest honor on your shelf. Please share this information with others.

  3. This wonderful book changed my life and the life of my new puppy for the best. I consulted other documents on this subject before but I could not bring myself to spend money to buy one of them. When I went to the store to look at the book, it was so clear and easy to read. I looked at the chapter on allergies to compare what I saw in other books and has been so complete. An entire chapter, as opposed to a paragraph or a page in another. It’s full of information, products and telephone numbers, where to find a holistic veterinarian. in your area, etc. ect. Each owner of the animal in the world should read this book.

  4. A must have reference for every dog owner. Zucker compiles the recommendations of over 30 top holistic veterinarians across the country in this book into two parts. Part I covers the basics of good health, diet and nutrition. In addition, based on terms of replacement, supplements and remedies are discussed.

Part II is organized in an A to Z list of common problems – from arthritis to yeast infections. Each section contains recommendations and information from a number of holistic veterinarians. This format gives you the opportunity to learn about different treatment options and decide what is best for the individual circumstances of your dog.

  5. One of my pugs has a trachea collasping, who suddenly turned very bad last November. She went to veterinary every 3 days and was on 4 different medications. However, she was coughing, gagging and being lost his spunk. We even took her to a veterinary college. Unless a transaction very intus there was nothing to do.
I ordered this book hoping to get his strength against the surgery. Well the section on food allergies helped. . and has been med free since May It is a good book to have on hand if you want to make sure you have everything you can to help your dog.
