Sports Supplements — A Chinese Herbal Prescription (35)

The so-called sports supplements consist of those herbs that enhance physical endurance and quicken recovery in case of injuries. This herbal category is suitable for people engaging in martial arts, competitive sports, or regular exercises such as biking, running, rowing or hiking.

It should be noted that there are no quick performance enhancing herbs in Chinese medicine with the dramatic effects of steroid. Chinese herbs are used for bodybuilding and faster recovery, implying a longer-term approach.

What should a sports supplement help?

• Nourish blood.
• Enhance blood circulation.
• Harness Qi to improve endurance and recovery.
• “Supplement” means in addition to healthy food.

The following herbs are recommended as a combination:

Flu or Cold — A Chinese Herbal Prescription (5)

FLU or COLD – - A chinese herbal prescription.
A flu or cold usually goes away in a few days if you rest enough and drink a lot of water. However, the herbal prescription will help you recover faster, especially if you have a stubborn cough. It also reduces all the discomforts of the flu while you are recovering.

For elders, kids, or those who are weak, don’t wait for the flu to go away by itself. Take the herbs to end the flu sooner and prevent it from degenerating into something serious like bronchitis or pneumonia.

The prescription should be written according to what kind of symptoms the patient has, and the severity of those symptoms:
1) Fever or high temperature
Lian Qiao 連 翹
Huang Qin 黃 芩
Zhi Zi 枝 子
Di Gu Pi 地 骨 皮
2) Cough, phlegm and nasal congestion
Chuan Bei Mu 川 貝 母
Sang Bai Pi 桑 白 皮
Qing Pi 青 皮
Zi Su Ye 紫 蘇 葉
Pi Pa Ye 批 杷 葉
3) Indigestion requiring mild purging
Zhi Shi 枳 實
Fan Xie Ye 番 瀉 葉
4) Weak respiratory system (depending on the patient)
Bai Bu 百 步
Zi Wan 紫 菀
A combination of 13 herbs are recommended.

There are other symptoms requiring no treatment, because they will go away automatically when the flu is reduced, e.g. tiredness, aches and pains, or lack of appetite. These symptoms are your body’s natural reaction to the flu. It would be a mistake if herbs are prescribed to lessen those symptoms. Why? Those symptoms all require strengthening herbs which are “hot” in nature. The herbs you use for the flu have to be “cold” in nature. Thus you would create a conflict in your prescription. This conflict would result in lessening the overall effect of the herb package, and even worse, prolonging the flu. If those symptoms still remain after the flu is gone, something else is wrong and should be treated from a different angle by strengthening the body.

Drink one to two cups (8 oz each) of herb tea a day.
Chinese herbs are very effective in reducing the various discomforts of the flu and shortening its hold on you.
Most flu patients need less than five days of herbs to completely recover.
While you recover from the flu, remember to rest, drink more water, eat light meals, and avoid greasy, peppery, deep-fried and barbecued food.

This is just one formula with countless variations depending on:
* Severity and nature of the symptoms based on observation and discussion of the problem with the herbalist.
* How weak is your body and how much herbs you need to help you fight the flu.

Delay Aging — A Chinese Herbal Prescription (16)

DELAY AGING – - A chinese herbal prescription.
Delay aging means prolonging your productive life. It also means keeping you healthy as long as possible so that you are able to enjoy a better life. Everyone knows that we are swimming against the current of aging and natural death. In this process, we should try to prevent the symptoms of old age from appearing earlier or from becoming debilitating.

Aging can be a depressing experience if you think about withering away in a helpless situation. Therefore, the goal to combat aging is to maintain your health strong enough so that you can take care of yourself and perform what you are capable of doing as you move on.

Nature of aging
• Aging and health deterioration goes hand in hand.
• In normal circumstances, your body stops growing around 20, followed by a so-called prime or plateau period lasting until 40.
• Most young people don’t worry about aging. Why should they?
• When you reach 40 or later, and begin to feel some downhill symptoms, suddenly you’ll appreciate the meaning of aging.
• Aging occurs gradually from 40 to 50, which may not be noticeable. Then it may occur in a step function, enough to make you nervous.
• There are of course some exceptions to the above description.
• The general rule is that if you care about maintaining good health even when you are young, the downhill symptoms will occur later rather than sooner.
• Health maintenance should be cultivated as a habit or lifestyle.
• Prevention should be taken more seriously.

Examples of downhill symptoms:
• Decrease in physical endurance, especially in sports activities.
• Energy depletion, more rest to replenish energy.
• Slower response time.
• Memory not as good as before.
• Joint pains more frequent and intense.
• Weight gain due to metabolic change.
• Menopause in females.
• Less fertile and less sexual desire.
• Countless others more serious and scary.

Do not fantasize about miracle herbs that can bring back the fountain of youth. The movies and some businessmen say those herbs exist. The Chinese Emperors had been looking for them all the time. The Emperors were the most spoiled bunch. Many of them died young because they did not take care of their health. They ordered the eunuchs to find the miracle herbs. The smart eunuchs would run away because they knew they could never find them. The less smart ones returned with some fake things, only to face execution because they could not deliver. During the Three-Kingdoms period in China, the legendary herbalist Hua Tuo 華佗 was executed circa 205 A.D. by Cao Cao 曹操 for refusing to devote fulltime to curing Cao’s chronic headaches. The fact that Hua Tuo was executed late in his professional life in his 90’s shows that he had found a way to delay aging.

The Chinese approach to delay aging emphasizes strengthening and prevention by adopting a healthy lifestyle, eating the right kind of food, and using medicinal herbs as a supplement. The herbs aim to enhance overall body functions, with special attention paid to weaker organs. A stronger body is the best defense against disease and aging. The following herbs are recommended for health enhancement:

1) Strengthen overall
Ren Shen 人參
Dang Shen 黨參
Bai Zhu 白朮
Fu Ling 伏苓
Gan Cao 甘草

2) Strengthen blood
Chuan Xiong 川芎
Dang Gui 當歸
Di Huang 地黃
Chi Shao 赤芍

3) Enhance Qi circulation
Huang Qi 黃耆
Sang Ji Sheng 桑寄生
Suo Yang 鎖陽

4) Reduce excess heat
Huang Qin 黃芩
A total of 13 herbs are used.

Drink one cup (8 oz) of herb tea a day, preferably in the morning to allow for dissipation of excess heat generated by the strengthening herbs. You don’t need the herb tea for consecutive days. Drinking 10 to 20 cups of herb tea within a month will suffice normally.

This is just one formula with countless variations depending on:
* How accurate the herbalist can pinpoint your weak organs.
* How weak is your body initially.
* How does your body respond to the herbs.

Qi (Chi): A Practical Interpretation (30)

The Chinese medical theories are mainly adopted from the works of philosophers, poets, and scholars who were not herbalists. In trying to interpret the theories, most people tend to commingle them with the empirical knowledge of herbs, resulting in confusion and less objectivity. For a review, please see two of my videos: chinese herbal Knowledge and Medical Theories.

To make the medical theories more useful, I wish to show you a practical way to interpret each of them in separate videos. This method will result in a better theoretical foundation for herbal treatment and disease prevention. It will also enhance the objectivity and practicality of Chinese medicine.

Central to the Chinese method of treatment and prevention is the concept of Qi (Chi). Without Qi, nothing lives and there will be no need for treatment or prevention. The word Qi “氣” means “air”, and much more. When you think about air, many other things come to mind regarding your physical and mental wellbeing.

What do we mean by Qi?
• Qi is invisible and mobile. It does not have a form and exists everywhere.
• Qi is part of nature, an energy force that is powerful, good, and healing.
• Qi is the medium where all living things sustain and maintain balance.
• Qi is present in all living things. When Qi leaves, life will end. When Qi is blocked, illness will occur.
• Qi has a spiritual component too. It’s about justice, fairness, honor, and conscience as presented in the well-known Chinese poem 正氣歌.
• Qi can only be felt, harnessed, or enhanced. How? By means of healthy food, exercise, medicinal herbs, and last but not least, good deeds.
• For every person, Qi is always there if you want to benefit from it.

Everyday examples of the presence of Qi:
• Sunlight, air, night/day and seasonal changes, cosmic phenomena.
• Forces of nature such as wind, waves, thunder, lightning, earthquake.
• The power and adaptability of all living things to survive.
• Immunity from disease and fertility to reproduce in all living things.
• The prospects of individual empowerment and improvement.
• Qi Gong, Tai Chi, and Kung Fu are exercises aiming to harness and enhance the Qi in the body.

Making Herbal MASTER TONIC ” how to Cure Anything “cold cure

This stuff fixes cold, flu, respiratory problems, immune booster, anti allergy, anti bacterial, anti fungal, anti anything that can hurt you… MASTER TONIC…

contains, Garlic, Horseradish, Ginger, Peppers, Onion, in an Apple Cider vinegar base.

Have a Healthy Day!!!

www.HealthyHerbalist.com

Master Tonic

- A Natural Antibiotic: antiviral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-parasitical.

1 part fresh chopped garlic

1 part fresh chopped Onion

1 part fresh grated Ginger Root

1 part fresh grated Horseradish Root

1 part fresh chopped Cayenne Peppers or any peppers available.

Apple Cider Vinegar (Raw Unfiltered Unbleached Non-distilled)

Fill a glass jar 3/4 of the way full with equal parts by volume of the above fresh chopped and grated herbs. Then fill jar to the top with raw apple cider vinegar. Close and shake vigorously

Shake at least once a day for two weeks, and then filter the mixture through a clean piece of cloth or filter, bottle and label. Make sure that when you make this tonic that you shake it every time you walk by it, a minimum of once per day. Remember that all the herbs and vegetables should be fresh (and organically grown if possible) and use dried herbs only in an emergency.

This tonic is extremely powerful because all the ingredients are fresh. Its power should not be underestimated. This formula is a modern day plague tonic and when added to an incurable routine it can cure the most chronic conditions and stubborn diseases. It stimulates maximum blood circulation, while putting the best detoxifying herbs into the blood. This formula is not just for the sniffles, it has helped to turn around the deadliest infections like some of the new mutated killer viruses that defy conventional antibiotics.

The dosage is 1 or 2 ounce, two or more times daily. Swish and swallow. (Don’t dilute with water.)

For ordinary infections, a dose taken 5-6 times a day will deal with most conditions. It can be used during pregnancies, is safe for children (use smaller doses and as a food is completely non-toxic. Make up plenty as it does not need refrigeration and lasts indefinitely without any special storage conditions.

Ingredient properties:

-Garlic cloves (anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-parasitical)

-White Onion, or hottest onions available (similar properties to garlic)

-Ginger Root (increases circulation to the extremities)

-Horseradish Root (increases blood flow to the head)

-Cayenne Peppers, or the hottest peppers available, i.e. Jalapeno, etc. (a great blood stimulant).

Garlic is a broad spectrum antibiotic, destroying both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Unlike chemical antibiotics that kill off the millions of friendly bacteria that your body needs, Garlic only kills the bad guys and even promotes and increases your healthy bacteria. It is also a very potent anti-viral which really makes it a specific for colds, influenza and upper respiratory infections. Garlic is also a powerful anti-fungal and literally destroys any antigen, pathogen and any harmful or disease causing micro-organism that can hurt you. Onion is Garlic’s next of kin and has a similar but milder action. Together they are a killing duo. Horseradish is a potent herb for the sinus and lungs. It opens up the sinus passages and increases the circulation there, where, most doctors agree, the common cold and influenza often starts. Cayenne and Ginger are like a nuclear blast to your body’s circulation. This powerful tag team will unblock anything, anywhere!

So just imagine, you have the two strongest herbs to kill EVERY germ known and the three most powerful herbs to blast them around your entire body. It doesn’t get any better.
